Reservations

For collection dates more than 4 weeks away, you can either pay a non-refundable booking deposit to secure your reservation, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before the start date, or you can pay in full upfront.

For collection dates within 4 weeks of the start date, the full balance must be paid immediately.

On the day of collection, a refundable insurance deposit of £1500.00 must be provided via bank transfer in the name of the driver. This amount may be increased depending on any endorsements or convictions on the driver’s licence.  

Documents Required – UK Residents

To collect your motorhome, the following documents must be presented for each driver. Failure to provide the correct documentation will result in the cancellation of your reservation:

• A valid photo card driving licence (if you hold a paper licence, you must also present your passport).

• DVLA licence check code, available here: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence.

• A bank statement dated within 3 months of the hire start date.

• A utility bill dated within 3 months of the hire start date.

Both proof of address documents must match the address on the driving licence. If there is a discrepancy, the insurance will be invalid, and the hire cannot proceed. (Please note: in this situation, we cannot refund your payment.)

If you or any named drivers have had significant convictions in the past 5 years, more than 6 penalty points, or any accidents in the last 3 years, let us know in advance, as this may affect your insurance deposit.

Documents Required – Non-UK Residents

The following documents are required to collect your motorhome. Failure to provide these will result in the cancellation of your booking:

• A valid driving licence.

• Passport.

• A signed declaration indicating any current points or convictions on your licence.

• A bank statement dated within 3 months of the hire start date.

• A utility bill dated within 3 months of the hire start date.

Both proof of address documents must match the address on the licence. If there is a mismatch, the insurance will not be valid, and the hire cannot proceed. (Please note: if this happens, we cannot provide a refund.)

If you or any named drivers have had significant convictions in the past 5 years, more than 6 penalty points, or any accidents in the last 3 years, let us know in advance, as this may impact your insurance deposit.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your booking, the following terms apply:

• For cancellations made more than 4 weeks before your start date, the booking deposit is retained.

• For cancellations made within 2 weeks of the start date or in the case of no-shows, 100% of the total hire fee is retained.

This also applies if driver licences are found to be invalid or do not meet the requirements stated on your booking form.

While we do not provide this service, we recommend that you purchase holiday insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

If your reserved motorhome becomes unavailable due to unexpected events such as accidents, theft, or weather conditions, we will issue a full refund of all payments made. However, Go Dora Motorhomes will not be responsible for any other costs incurred, such as campsite or travel bookings.

Insurance Information

Driver Eligibility:

All drivers must meet the following criteria:

• Age: Between 25 and 75 years.

• Health: Be in good physical and mental condition to drive.

• Licence: Hold a full, valid licence for at least two years.

• Driving Record: Have no more than 6 penalty points on their licence (points for speeding offences may be excluded).

• Accidents & Convictions: Have no convictions or serious offences in the past 11 years, such as drink driving.

• International Visitors: Drivers from outside the UK are allowed to hire, subject to approval.

Named Drivers Only:

Only individuals listed on the rental agreement are authorised to operate the vehicle.

Insurance Excess Deposit:

An £1500.00 refundable deposit is required at the time of collection. This may be increased for drivers with endorsements or convictions. Any insurance claims will result in the full deposit being taken, while damages below £1500.00 will be deducted from the balance.  We will hold the £1500 48 hours after the booking completes, in order to give us time to inspect for damages. 

Additional Drivers:

You can add extra drivers for an additional fee.

What’s Not Covered:

Personal belongings are not included in the motorhome insurance. We recommend you take out separate insurance to cover these items.

Reporting Damage:

Any accidents or damage must be reported immediately to Go Dora Motorhomes, and a damage report must be completed when the vehicle is returned.

Limitations and Responsibilities of the Hirer

Your Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for any costs incurred from parking tickets, speeding fines, congestion charges, or other legal violations during your hire period.

• The vehicle must not exceed its maximum passenger capacity or carry excess weight beyond its specifications.

• You must not use the vehicle for hire or reward, or for towing unless prior permission is granted.

• The vehicle must remain on UK mainland unless written approval is provided.

• Any mechanical adjustments or repairs require explicit approval from Go Dora Motorhomes.

Exclusions:

The following are not covered by our insurance, and you will be fully liable:

• Damage above windscreen height, including roof lights and solar panels.

• Any damage to the awning, wing mirrors, tyres, wheels, or windows.

• Damage caused by negligence, including insufficient oil, coolant, or AdBlue levels.

• Theft resulting from keys being left in the vehicle.

• Interior and exterior damage caused maliciously or through carelessness.

Tyres and Windscreens

• You are liable for any tyre damage that occurs during the hire period.

• Windscreen replacement incurs a £100 excess; repairs carry a £25 excess.

Breakdowns and Accidents

In the event of a breakdown or accident:

• Contact Go Dora Motorhomes immediately.

• Recovery and repair services are included within the UK and Europe (details provided in the vehicle).

• Costs related to damage caused by negligence will be your responsibility.

Go Dora Motorhomes is not liable for additional costs such as alternative transport, accommodation, or loss of bookings due to breakdowns or accidents.

Mileage Policy

• 1000 Miles Per week is included for trips within England and Wales.

• Scotland and European travel incur a daily mileage charge of £20.

General Rules

• The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and its contents, free from defects or damage, other than as specified by GoDora Motorhome Hire on the vehicle appraisal form.

Before the commencement of hire the hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the premises of Godora Motorhome hire.

• Smoking is prohibited inside the motorhome; penalties will apply if smoking occurs.

• Free parking for one vehicle is available while the motorhome is hired, but vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.

• Late returns will incur a charge of £25 per hour or part thereof.

• Vehicle Keys must never be left in unattended vehicle. Vehicle must be securely locked when unattended and keys should never be left unattended in the vehicle when not use and all reasonable measures must be taken by the hirer to ensure the safety and security of the vehicle. Loss of vehicle ignition key will result in a replacement charge of £300 and all other costs involved in the recovery of the vehicle.

Vehicle Weight

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure the gross vehicle weight in so more than 3500KG when fully loaded and must ensure contents are secure at all times.

Pets

• Pets are welcome, provided they are trained and do not damage the motorhome. You must gain pre-approval from us. 

• Any additional cleaning required due to pets will result in an extra charge.

Fuel, Oil, and Gas

• The motorhome comes with a full tank of fuel and AdBlue, which must be refilled before return. A surcharge of £25 plus fuel costs will be applied if the tank is not full.

• The hirer is responsible for regular checks of oil and water levels.

• 1x 6KG Gas Bottle is supplied with the Motorhome.  If used, there will be a £60 fee.

Eligibility and Suitability

Go Dora Motorhomes reserves the right to refuse vehicle handover if the hirer is deemed unfit to drive or handle the motorhome responsibly. In such cases, all payments will be refunded, but Go Dora Motorhomes will not be liable for other losses, such as campsite or event bookings.
